Welcome to Scartop

Scartop have accumulated over 25 years experience in the furniture business. Evolving four retail stores in Lancashire and Yorkshire, the Scartop name has established itself a reputation second to none across the north of England.

The
Scartop story began in historic Haworth West Yorkshire. A rambling, derelict old shooting lodge nestled in the hillside locally known as far Scartop, was completely restored to its former glory by traditional craftsmen.

Moor Lodge now boasts over 30 rooms of home-style furniture and giftware ideas. Complete with Victorian balcony tea rooms, affording stunning views of the Haworth moors made famous by the Bronte sisters, the stone flagged piggery, original timber beams and raging log fire, make
Scartop Moor Lodge a shopping experience never to be forgotten. The story continued across the border in Heywood, Lancashire. Renovating a Victorian cotton mill, the second Scartop, ‘Spring Mill’ had evolved.

It took one year to bring a 100,000 sq ft textile mill back to life. A second storey was added, including a specially commissioned clock tower from the architect Michael Beaumont. As with Moor Lodge, work remained faithful to the original building using reclaimed timber, original stone flagging and fireplaces from the Victorian era.

A third
Scartop was introduced, this time transforming a row of Georgian town houses in the West Yorkshire town of Wakefield. From the outside, the building retains much of its original character. On the inside, many of the original rooms spread across three storeys are linked by the original staircase and are still intact, retaining a period effect.

Bamber Bridge, Preston, is the location of the most recent
Scartop store. It is one of the largest single storey world furniture showroom of its kind. A series of imaginative room sets evocative of time gone by are accompanied by an authentic Victorian wrought iron & glass canopy entrance and a cobbled forecourt. Bamber Bridge like the other stores carries scartop's unmistakeable sense of history.

The
Scartop shopping experience has room after room filled with classic quality hand-made furniture and accessories from around the world. All Scartop stores are a veritable labyrinth of nooks and crannies, alcoves and corners, all packed with a vast range of Traditional Pine, Oak, Ethnic and Globally Sourced Furniture.
